Leadership CARE Development

Built on five leadership core competencies; organizational leadership (culture), managing self, managing programs, managing people, and managing projects, our leadership development program is delivered as monthly offerings over a six-month period. 

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

 

INTRODUCTION TO LEADERSHIP

Purpose:

As a leader, you play a very important role in making decisions. These decisions influence you, the success of your unit, and WMCHealth. This course will offer you insight into different leadership styles, decision-making strategies, and the art of self-leadership.

LEADERSHIP EXCELLENCE AND DEVELOPMENT

Purpose:
To develop the skills of rising/high potential leaders through integrating experimental and cognitive classroom training with reflective practice.

LEADERSHIP FORUM

Paired with a self-paced eLearning course, leaders across the WMCHealth Network will share how they apply the content covered in each course to their everyday work.

 

Topics include:

  • How to create your personal brand
  • Strategic thinking
  • Leading with emotional intelligence
  • Resiliency
  • Effective networking

COACHING PROGRAM

This program is open to workforce members who have completed the workforce academy manager development pillar and have department sponsorship. Those participating in this program will complete the Gallup CliftonStrengths assessment and receive 1:1 coaching from a certified workforce development coach. These sessions will help individuals identify and build on their greatest strengths. Workforce members will also receive a customized development plan to support their growth.

These courses are electives within the Workforce Academy and are open to all learners.

PUBLIC SPEAKING

Purpose:
This course provides tips and tools to speak publicly with clarity and confidence and with less stress. These skills are essential for leaders, especially as leadership responsibilities expand across the network. 

BUDGET MANAGEMENT OVERVIEW

Purpose:
This course will walk you through our budget management system, StrataJazz Decision Technology.

MICROSOFT EXCEL

This eLearning focusing on Microsoft Excel is a great tool to help you create spreadsheets, sort data, and calculate information. This beginner's level course will introduce you to some of the basic features that Excel offers.  

MICROSOFT EXCEL: PIVOT TABLES AND PIVOT CHARTS

A Microsoft Excel PivotTable is a great tool that allows you to summarize and explore data interactively.  This eLearning course will explain and show you how to create basic PivotTables and PivotCharts.

MICROSOFT POWERPOINT

This eLearning focusing on Microsoft PowerPoint is a great tool to help you create presentations. This course will introduce you to some of the features that PowerPoint offers.   

MICROSOFT WORD

This eLearning course will introduce and explain the features of Microsoft Word 2019. This virtual training includes: explaining the parts of Word, shortcuts, best practices, and more advanced functions.

CRITICAL THINKING, GOAL SETTING AND TIME MANAGEMENT

This instructor-led training will show how critical thinking influences goal setting and the importance of setting SMART goals. Individuals will also learn time management tips and techniques to stay focused and accomplish their goals.

CRITICAL THINKING

This instructor-led training will highlight how individuals use critical thinking skills with everyday tasks in and out of the workplace. Additionally, individuals will learn how to enhance their critical thinking skills.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT 101

In this course, you'll learn the fundamentals of project management, including how to schedule project activities, how to communicate schedules and deadlines effectively, and how to report on the status of projects.
