Workplace Readiness Program
Our Workplace Readiness Program is designed to empower our workforce to elevate their professional skills as they work toward achieving their career goals. Workforce Development’s Workplace Readiness Program objective is to support front-line workforce development. The training sessions highlight essential skills such as Microsoft Office, communication, professionalism, life management, effective teamwork, public speaking, and career readiness.
COURSE DESCRIPTIONS
These instructor-led classes will be offered across the WMCHealth Network:
LIFE MANAGEMENT SKILLS
The 90-minute session will provide participants with a fresh perspective on Life Management skills and techniques to enhance time management, improve productivity, and set goals.
MICROSOFT EXCEL: THE BASICS
Microsoft Excel is a great tool to help you create spreadsheets, sort data, and calculate information. This beginner's level course will introduce you to some of the basic features that Excel offers.
COMMUNICATION IN THE WORKFORCE
The focus of this 90-minute session will be on different communication strategies, styles of communication, and conflict resolution. Participants will learn about different conflict management styles and how they can be applied in the workplace.
PROFESSIONALISM IN THE WORKPLACE
This 90-minute instructor-led session will discuss the dos and don'ts of professional communication and behavior and how it correlates to success in the workplace.
EFFECTIVE TEAMWORK
This 90-minute instructor led session will discuss the 9 roles on a team and how effective communication and working together will enhance team productivity.
PUBLIC SPEAKING
This course provides tips and tools to speak with clarity and confidence and with less stress. These skills are essential for leaders, especially as leadership responsibilities expand across the Network.
CAREER READINESS
Learn effective interview strategies and how to articulate your skills.
Upon completing all the required classes and fulfilling the program’s requirements, each participant will receive a Certificate of Completion, reflecting their commitment to personal and professional growth.
