The portfolio of individual contributor classes are aligned to WMCHealth’s Mission and Values. They reflect the core competencies of our institution and serve as the bedrock to our staff’s continuous learning, development, and growth. Individual contributors are strongly recommended to complete the courses in the first year of their employment. Completion of these courses will indicate a commitment to WMCHealth Values and career mobility.

EFFECTIVE TEAM PLAYER

Purpose:  
As today’s healthcare environment challenges the notion of working in traditional professional silos and focuses more on coordinated, patient-centered models of care, working across professions as a team toward a common goal is more important than ever.

Purpose:
Strong communication skills are paramount to promoting positive patient outcomes, engagement, and satisfaction (*IHI). To ensure a patient-centered care environment, it is critical that staff is equipped with the techniques and tools to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and visitors.

Purpose:
Having good conflict resolution skills improves working relationships and enhances a patient-driven culture. By learning the skills to resolve conflicts in a more professional way, collaboration is built and a positive workplace environment is fostered.

Purpose:
Safety is our number one priority. We are always striving to provide the safest patient care and improve patient outcomes by improving communication and teamwork skills among health care professionals. This training optimized the use of information, people, and resources to achieve the best clinical outcomes for patients; increasing team awareness and clarifying team roles and responsibilities; resolving conflicts and improving information sharing; eliminating barriers to quality and safety.
