As the only Level I trauma center in the Hudson Valley, our state-of-the-art emergency department is recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, Stroke Care Excellence and Forensics Care of Excellence and provides complex, multidisciplinary emergency care 24 hours a day to adult and pediatric patients, including walk-ins, those brought in by EMS, and trauma cases transferred from other facilities. Serving all levels of emergency needs, we are the local hospital of choice for the most critically injured patients requiring the most advanced interventions available. Our 895-bed academic hospital provides the residents of Valhalla, NY with acute care services – burn care, organ transplants and advanced neurovascular procedures and more – that can’t be found anywhere else in the region.

- CT technology and real-time digital radiography with multiple viewing stations throughout the emergency services
- State-of-the-art digital documentation system which tracks physician documentation and interfaces with other hospital departments
Because our facility offers everything from ophthalmology, burn, brain surgery, Level IV NICU, and so much more, we receive patients from ground and flight as far as 150 miles away allowing our department to collaborate with and manage some of the sickest patients in the region using the critical thinking skills embedded in our staff.
