HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley

As one of Ulster County’s largest employers, HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley operates a 177-bed healthcare system comprising HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, NY, and Margaretville Hospital, a 15-bed critical access hospital in Margaretville, NY, serving Ulster, Delaware, Greene, and Schoharie counties. Joining WMCHealth in 2016, HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley also operates Mountainside Residential Care Center, an 82-bed residential care facility in Margaretville.

 

In December 2022, HealthAlliance Hospital was reopened at 105 Mary’s Avenue, as the only hospital in Kingston, NY after a $113M expansion and enhancement project. Here, as a Respiratory Therapist, you will:

  • Deliver respiratory medication and airway clearance therapies
  • Trauma, Rapid Response, Stroke, Code Heart, and Cardiac Arrest Teams 
  • Tracheostomy care
  • Attending all high-risk deliveries and c-sections
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret blood gas sampling 
  • Ventilator management; both invasive and non-invasive  
  • Perform patient intubations after certification
  • Precept respiratory students as they learn and prepare to become therapists
  • Be part of the intensive care team participating in ICU rounds and helping with plans for patients’ care

MidHudson Regional Hospital

MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY, offers a mixed and dynamic patient care population in a unique Community Hospital supported by a large Medical Center and affiliates where a culture of patient safety is embraced.  Here you will maximize your scope of practice and critical thinking skills. As a vital member of the patient care team, you will have the opportunity to implement highly specialized and selective respiratory modalities reflective of our diverse patient population, including: 

  • Patient assessment and consultation 
  • Deliver respiratory medication and airway clearance therapies
  • Trauma, Rapid Response and Code Blue/Code White Teams 
  • Intubation; Adult  
  • Adult and Pediatric Emergency 
  • Attend multidisciplinary educational and working rounds  
  • Collection, analysis, and interpretation of blood gas sampling 
  • Ventilator management; both invasive and non-invasive 
Ideal candidates will have:
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience 
  • Graduate of an A.M.A approved program for respiratory care (N.B.R.C.). 
  • NYS license as a respiratory therapist, new hires must have their RRT within six months
  • An associate degree of applied science, or higher, in respiratory care, required 
  • Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care (N.B.R.C.)
  • Certified in BLS
