Wound/Stoma Care

The Wound & Ostomy registered nurse is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care in inpatient and approved surgical and ambulatory care areas.

Responsibilities include:

  • Systematic collection and assessment of data in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Performing all the required elements of a nursing assessment
  • Establishing goals and strategies for meeting the discharge or continuing care needs of the patient, family, and/or other care providers
  • Collaborating with other nursing staff members while delegating and supervising care
