Our Rising Senior program is an eight (8) week paid mentorship offering an opportunity to expand your clinical knowledge by providing direct patient care, reinforcing nursing skills, and increasing clinical competency in practice.  You will be paired with an RN and work as part of a highly skilled and experienced team to deliver excellent care.

Additional observational experiences in areas of interest will be offered, and you are encouraged to participate in educational offerings and in-services throughout the summer.

At the completion of the program, you will have an opportunity to retain per diem status as a nursing assistant and will have preferred interviewing status if applying for an RN position after graduation. Evaluation of the program will include input from you, RN mentors, and unit leadership.

This is an eight-week program which consists of:

  • Two weeks of training
  • Five weeks of partnering with a registered nurse in one of our Med/Surg units
  • One week of observation in a specialty nursing unit

  • Enrollment in an accredited school of nursing and entering senior year in Fall/2024
  • 3.0 GPA
  • Current American Heart Association BLS
  • Two (2) references from instructors
  • Resume with a completed application
